Job Overview
The Network Planning Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and implementing next‑generation mobile and fixed‑line networks for Huawei’s clients in Tunisia and the broader North African region. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed network design and capacity plans for 4G and 5G deployments, incorporating traffic forecasts, spectrum availability, and geographic constraints.
- Perform RF propagation analysis using industry‑standard tools such as Atoll, Planet, or iBwave to optimize site placement and antenna configurations.
- Collaborate with RF engineers, project managers, and local authorities to secure site approvals, permits, and infrastructure access.
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including network topology diagrams, bill of materials, and cost estimates.
- Lead network optimization initiatives post‑deployment, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommending corrective actions.
- Support tender preparation and bid responses by providing accurate technical proposals and cost models.
- Stay current with emerging telecom standards, technologies, and regulatory policies to ensure compliance and competitive advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of LTE and 5G NR architecture, protocols, and planning methodologies.
- Proficiency with network planning software (e.g., Atoll, Planet, iBwave) and GIS tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a data‑driven approach to decision making.
- Effective communication skills in both Arabic and English; French is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with Tunisian telecom regulations and spectrum allocation policies.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in RF planning, 5G technologies, or project management (e.g., PMP) are highly desirable.
