Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily freight forwarding operations, ensuring timely and cost‑effective movement of goods.
  • Develop and implement SOPs to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with customs authorities, shipping lines, airlines, and trucking partners to guarantee compliance with import/export regulations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, container dwell time, and cost per shipment, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead a team of freight coordinators, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development support.
  • Collaborate with sales and account management to translate client requirements into operational plans.
  • Manage relationships with third‑party logistics providers, negotiating rates and service level agreements.
  • Prepare operational reports for senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across all handling activities.
  • Implement digital tools and platforms to streamline documentation, tracking, and communication.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding, customs procedures, and multimodal transport.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., SAP TM, CargoWise, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop cross‑functional teams.
  • Effective communication skills in Arabic, French, and English.
  • Negotiation and vendor management expertise.
  • Project management capabilities and familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications such as Certified International Freight Forwarder (CIFF) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt are highly regarded.

Experience
