Job Overview
The Sustainable Cosmetic Product Development Manager will spearhead the creation of eco‑friendly beauty products, from concept to market launch. Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross‑functional teams to develop sustainable cosmetic formulations that meet brand performance standards.
- Conduct lifecycle assessments and carbon footprint analyses for new products and packaging.
- Identify and qualify renewable, biodegradable, and ethically sourced ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with Tunisian and international cosmetic regulations, including REACH and EU Cosmetics Regulation.
- Collaborate with marketing to translate sustainability attributes into compelling consumer messaging.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for product development pipelines.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities in green beauty to inform strategic decisions.
- Present project updates and sustainability reports to senior leadership.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of cosmetic chemistry, formulation science, and sustainable ingredient sourcing.
- Proficiency in lifecycle assessment tools (e.g., SimaPro, GaBi) and environmental impact metrics.
- Excellent project management abilities with a track record of delivering products on time and within budget.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret scientific data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Fluency in French and English; Arabic is a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or specialized certification in Sustainable Product Development, Green Chemistry, or Environmental Management is highly desirable.
Experience
Candidates should have 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience in cosmetic product development, with at least three years focused on sustainability initiatives, eco‑design, or green chemistry. Experience working within multinational beauty companies or in a regulated market environment is preferred.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of 60,000 to 90,000 SSP per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and sustainability incentives are part of the compensation package.
