Job Overview

The Solar Project Development Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end development of utility‑scale solar projects in the Tataouine region. This role involves conducting feasibility studies, securing land rights, coordinating with local authorities, and managing the technical design process. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed technical specifications, layout designs, and energy yield simulations using industry‑standard software.
  • Coordinate land acquisition, negotiate lease agreements, and ensure compliance with local zoning and environmental regulations.
  • Develop project budgets, cash flow models, and financial feasibility reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the permitting process, including environmental impact assessments, grid connection studies, and regulatory approvals.
  • Collaborate with EPC contractors, suppliers, and consultants to define scope of work and technical requirements.
  • Monitor project milestones, track performance indicators, and provide regular status updates to senior management.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in PV design tools such as PVSyst, Helioscope, or SAM.
  • Excellent knowledge of Tunisian renewable energy regulations, grid codes, and permitting procedures.
  • Project management expertise, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Fluency in French and English; Arabic is a plus.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, NABCEP) are advantageous and will be considered favorably during the selection process.
