Job Overview

The Mining Geotechnical Engineer will lead geotechnical investigations, design stability solutions, and provide technical guidance for mining operations in the Zarzis region. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including drilling, surveying, and environmental specialists, to assess ground conditions, develop slope stability models, and recommend mitigation measures. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in‑situ testing.

• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, design recommendations, and risk mitigation strategies for mining projects.
• Collaborate with drilling and construction teams to integrate geotechnical findings into mine planning and design.
• Monitor ongoing ground behavior during mining operations and adjust designs as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with Tunisian mining regulations, international standards, and Glencore’s internal safety policies.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or Rocscience.
• Strong understanding of rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and slope stability analysis.
• Excellent data interpretation, report writing, and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
• Fluency in English; French or Arabic is an advantage.

Education
