Job Overview
We are seeking a visionary Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Platform Architect to design and implement next-generation industrial software platforms at our Bizerte Digital Innovation Center. This senior role involves architecting scalable, secure, and interoperable IIoT solutions that connect industrial equipment, collect real-time data, and enable advanced analytics for manufacturing, energy, and infrastructure clients across Tunisia and the MENA region. Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect enterprise-grade IIoT platforms for industrial automation and energy management applications
- Develop technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and integration patterns for industrial connectivity solutions
- Lead the selection and implementation of cloud technologies, edge computing frameworks, and industrial protocols
- Define data models, streaming architectures, and analytics pipelines for industrial time-series data
- Establish security frameworks, access controls, and compliance measures for industrial systems
- Collaborate with product management, development teams, and industrial domain experts
- Create technical documentation, best practices, and reference architectures for internal and customer use
- Evaluate emerging technologies in industrial connectivity, edge computing, and digital twins
- Mentor junior architects and engineers in IIoT principles and industrial software development
- Participate in customer workshops to understand requirements and propose architectural solutions
Required Skills
- Expert knowledge of industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP)
- Deep experience with cloud platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, Google Cloud IoT) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, PLCs, SCADA, and MES
- Proficiency in data architecture for time-series databases and industrial analytics
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks for industrial control systems (IEC 62443, NIST)
- Experience with edge computing architectures and industrial gateway devices
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strategic thinking with ability to balance technical requirements with business objectives
- Familiarity with digital twin concepts and industrial simulation technologies
- Project management skills for coordinating complex technical initiatives
Education
A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required. Additional certifications in cloud architecture (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect), industrial automation, or cybersecurity are highly valued. Continuous learning in emerging industrial technologies is essential for success in this role.
Experience
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in software architecture, with at least 4 years specifically focused on industrial IoT, industrial software platforms, or related domains. Must have hands-on experience designing and implementing at least two large-scale IIoT solutions for manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure sectors. Proven track record of leading architectural decisions for complex industrial systems and mentoring technical teams. Experience working in multinational technology companies or industrial automation providers is preferred.
