Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control the smart grid infrastructure using SCADA and advanced distribution management systems.
  • Analyze grid performance data to identify inefficiencies, forecast demand, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate the integration of renewable energy projects, including solar and wind, ensuring compliance with grid codes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for grid operation procedures, standards, and emergency response plans.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement cybersecurity measures protecting grid communication networks.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for grid disturbances, outages, and equipment failures.
  • Support regulatory reporting and ensure adherence to national energy policies.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of power system analysis, protection, and control.
  • Experience with SCADA, AMI, and DER management platforms.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
  • Understanding of renewable energy integration and grid codes.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills in English and French; Arabic is a plus.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., IEC, CIGRE) are advantageous.
