Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor network traffic and security alerts using SIEM platforms to identify potential threats.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests on routers, switches, firewalls, and core network devices.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain firewall policies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN configurations.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing root‑cause analysis and remediation.
  • Collaborate with the IT Operations team to ensure security best practices are integrated into network design and deployment.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and present findings to senior management.
  • Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, industry standards, and regulatory requirements affecting the telecommunications sector.
  • Participate in the development of the company’s security roadmap and risk management framework.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, MPLS) and telecom equipment.
  • Hands‑on experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, and SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation of security tasks.
  • Understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR compliance as they relate to telecom data.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CCNP Security are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
