Job Overview
The Digital Forestry Ecologist will play a key role in our Forestry and Conservation department, working to develop and implement digital solutions to support our conservation efforts. This will involve collaborating with our technical team to design and implement digital tools and platforms that help us monitor and manage forest ecosystems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecology and conservation, as well as experience with digital technologies and data analysis. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be comfortable with ambiguity and change.
This is a full-time position based in Jendouba, Tunisia, and will require regular travel to project sites throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital solutions to support conservation efforts, including the design and implementation of digital tools and platforms
- Collaborate with our technical team to develop and implement digital solutions, including data analysis and visualization
- Work with local communities and stakeholders to develop and implement conservation plans and projects
- Conduct field research and monitoring to inform conservation efforts
- Develop and maintain relationships with local partners and stakeholders
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Ecology or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in conservation and ecology, with a focus on digital technologies and data analysis
- Strong background in ecology and conservation, with experience in forest ecosystems
- Experience with digital technologies, including data analysis and visualization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable with ambiguity and change
