Job Overview
The Artificial Intelligence Ethics Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Microsoft’s AI solutions deployed in Tunisia and the broader MENA region adhere to the highest ethical standards. Reporting to the Head of Ethics and Responsible AI, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including product managers, engineers, legal counsel, and external stakeholders—to develop, implement, and monitor ethical guidelines, risk assessments, and compliance frameworks for AI systems.
This role is central to Microsoft’s commitment to trustworthy AI, addressing concerns such as bias mitigation, transparency, data privacy, and societal impact. You will also serve as a key liaison with regulators, NGOs, and academic partners, helping shape public policy and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AI ethics frameworks, guidelines, and assessment tools tailored to the Tunisian market.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for AI projects, identifying potential bias, privacy, and fairness issues.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed ethical considerations throughout the AI development lifecycle.
- Provide training and workshops for internal stakeholders on responsible AI practices.
- Engage with regulators, civil society, and academic institutions to align Microsoft’s AI initiatives with local laws and ethical standards.
- Monitor emerging AI regulations and standards in Tunisia and the MENA region, ensuring proactive compliance.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for senior leadership and external auditors.
- Advise on data governance, consent mechanisms, and transparency disclosures for AI-driven products.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies, data science pipelines, and algorithmic bias mitigation techniques.
- In‑depth knowledge of international and Tunisian AI ethics guidelines, data protection laws, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a track record of translating complex ethical concepts into actionable policies.
- Effective communication skills in both Arabic and English; French proficiency is a plus.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced technology environment.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels and build consensus around ethical standards.
Education
A Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, Law, Philosophy, or a related discipline is required. Relevant certifications in AI ethics, data privacy (e.g., CIPP/E), or responsible AI frameworks are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of 3‑5 years of professional experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, compliance, or related fields. Prior experience in a multinational technology company or a consultancy focused on AI governance is preferred.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of 2,500 – 3,500 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based bonuses and stock options may be available.
