Job Overview

The Data Privacy Officer will lead SAP Tunisia’s privacy program, ensuring compliance with Tunisian data protection regulations, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other relevant international standards. This role involves developing policies, conducting impact assessments, and acting as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities. The successful candidate will work closely with legal, security, product, and engineering teams to embed privacy by design into all SAP solutions delivered in Tunisia and the broader North African region. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data privacy framework aligned with Tunisian law and GDPR.
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new products, services, and internal processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data subjects, supervisory authorities, and internal stakeholders on privacy matters.
  • Monitor legislative developments and advise senior management on emerging privacy risks and compliance requirements.
  • Lead privacy training programs and awareness campaigns for employees across all departments.
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure technical safeguards support privacy objectives.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, notifications, and documentation to regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date register of processing activities and oversee data subject request handling.

Required Skills

  • In‑depth knowledge of Tunisian data protection law, GDPR, and international privacy standards.
  • Strong analytical and risk‑assessment abilities with a detail‑oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills in Arabic, French, and English, both written and verbal.
  • Proven experience drafting privacy policies, consent mechanisms, and contractual clauses.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with legal, IT, product, and business teams.
  • Project management expertise with a track record of delivering compliance initiatives on time.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (SAP Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure) and data lifecycle management.

Education

A Master’s degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or ISO 27701 are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have at least 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience in data privacy, compliance, or information security roles, preferably within the technology or telecommunications sector. Experience in a multinational corporation or a regulated industry will be considered an advantage.

Salary
