Job Overview
We are seeking a Digital Forestry Conservation Specialist to join our team in Djerba, Tunisia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our conservation efforts in the region.
The Digital Forestry Conservation Specialist will work closely with our conservation team to design and implement digital tools and platforms to monitor and manage forest ecosystems. This will involve collaborating with local stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and private sector partners.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, conservation, or a related field, as well as experience in digital technologies, including data analysis, GIS, and programming languages such as Python or R.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital solutions to support conservation efforts in the region
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to design and implement digital tools and platforms
- Conduct data analysis and GIS mapping to inform conservation decisions
- Develop and maintain relationships with local partners and stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of conservation plans and strategies
Required Skills
- Strong background in environmental science, conservation, or a related field
- Experience in digital technologies, including data analysis, GIS, and programming languages such as Python or R
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in Arabic and/or French is an asset
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
