Job Overview
The Public Policy Analyst will play a pivotal role in researching, analyzing, and formulating policy recommendations that support Tunisia’s development agenda. This position involves conducting rigorous quantitative and qualitative analyses, preparing policy briefs, and engaging with government officials to translate research findings into actionable strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive policy research on economic, social, and environmental issues affecting Tunisia, with a focus on data‑driven insights.
- Develop policy briefs, analytical reports, and presentation materials for senior officials, donors, and partner organizations.
- Collaborate with government ministries, NGOs, and private sector partners to gather stakeholder input and ensure policy relevance.
- Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of development interventions.
- Provide technical assistance and capacity‑building support to local institutions for effective policy implementation.
- Contribute to the preparation of funding proposals, project designs, and progress reports for World Bank financing.
- Stay abreast of global best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes that influence Tunisia’s development landscape.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., STATA, R, or Python).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic; French is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in policy formulation, impact assessment, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Project management skills, including timeline development and resource coordination.
- High level of cultural sensitivity and understanding of Tunisia’s socio‑economic context.
Education
A Master’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, Development Studies, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates with a Ph.D. or additional certifications in impact evaluation or data analytics are highly regarded.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of professional experience in public policy analysis, research institutions, think tanks, or international development agencies. Experience working in North Africa, particularly Tunisia, is strongly preferred.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of 3000 to 5000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
