Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Logistics Manager to lead and optimize our end-to-end logistics operations from our strategic Bizerte distribution center. This pivotal role is responsible for managing the storage, handling, and transportation of pharmaceutical products in compliance with stringent Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient, safe, and timely delivery of products to hospitals, pharmacies, and distributors across Tunisia and for export. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic logistics plan for Pfizer’s pharmaceutical products in Tunisia, ensuring alignment with regional and global supply chain objectives.
- Oversee all warehouse operations in Bizerte, including inventory management, order fulfillment, picking, packing, and shipping, maintaining strict temperature control for cold chain products.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, and transportation companies, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Ensure full compliance with Tunisian pharmaceutical regulations, international GDP guidelines, and company quality standards across all logistics activities.
- Implement and leverage Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other digital tools to optimize inventory accuracy, traceability, and operational efficiency.
- Lead a team of logistics coordinators and warehouse staff, providing coaching, performance management, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Analyze logistics performance metrics (OTIF, cost per unit, warehouse productivity) and develop action plans to drive cost savings and service improvements.
- Coordinate closely with regional demand planning, quality assurance, and commercial teams to ensure seamless supply chain integration.
- Develop and manage the logistics department budget, controlling costs while investing in capabilities that enhance reliability and scalability.
- Lead contingency planning and risk management for logistics disruptions, ensuring business continuity for critical medicines.
Required Skills
- Expert knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain principles, Good Distribution Practice (GDP), and cold chain logistics management.
- Proven expertise in warehouse and transportation management within a highly regulated industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and ERP/SAP modules.
- Excellent leadership and people management abilities, with experience building and motivating high-performing teams.
- Outstanding negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in Arabic and French; professional proficiency in English is essential.
- Deep understanding of Tunisian import/export regulations and customs procedures for pharmaceuticals.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into effective operational plans.
- High ethical standards and unwavering commitment to product integrity and patient safety.
Education
A Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Additional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or specialized training in Pharmaceutical GDP are highly desirable. This educational foundation is critical for navigating the complex regulatory and operational landscape of pharmaceutical employment in Tunisia.
Experience
A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain and logistics management, with at least 4 years specifically within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry. Candidates must have demonstrable experience managing a distribution center or major logistics hub, including direct responsibility for GDP compliance, temperature-controlled logistics, and team leadership. Experience working in a multinational corporation and managing 3PL partnerships is essential.
