Job Overview

As an Organic Farming Specialist, you will lead the implementation of sustainable agricultural projects in Nabeul. This role focuses on optimizing organic crop yields, ensuring compliance with international organic certification standards, and collaborating with local farmers to adopt eco-conscious techniques. The position reports directly to the Regional Agricultural Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute organic farming plans for high-value crops such as olives, tomatoes, and legumes.
• Monitor soil health, crop rotation, and pest management using organic methodologies.
• Train local farmers in organic certification protocols and sustainable irrigation practices.
• Coordinate with suppliers to source organic seeds, compost, and biodegradable materials.
• Prepare detailed reports on crop performance, yield analysis, and environmental impact assessments.

Required Skills

• Proven expertise in organic farming techniques and certification standards (e.g., EU Organic, USDA Organic).
• Strong project management skills with experience in agricultural planning and execution.
• Excellent communication abilities to educate and mentor local farming communities.
• Proficiency in using GIS or farm management software for data tracking and analysis.
• Problem-solving skills to address challenges in soil fertility, climate adaptation, and pest control.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Agronomy, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree in Sustainable Agriculture is a plus.

Experience

3-5 years of hands-on experience in organic farming, preferably in Mediterranean climates. Prior experience managing large-scale agricultural projects in Tunisia or North Africa is highly advantageous.

Salary

400,000 – 600,000 TND annually, commensurate with experience and project impact.
