Job Overview
The Chief Data Ethics Officer will lead Microsoft’s Data Governance & Ethics division in Tunisia, shaping policies that ensure responsible data use across all products and services. This senior role reports directly to the Regional Director of Compliance and works closely with legal, engineering, product, and AI teams. The officer will develop frameworks, conduct risk assessments, and guide the implementation of ethical standards that comply with local regulations and global best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the Data Ethics framework for all Microsoft operations in Tunisia.
- Lead cross‑functional ethics reviews for AI models, data analytics projects, and cloud services.
- Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with Tunisian data protection laws and international standards.
- Develop training programs and workshops to embed ethical decision‑making across engineering and product teams.
- Monitor emerging ethical risks, conduct impact assessments, and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on data ethics inquiries.
- Publish regular reports on ethics metrics, compliance status, and improvement initiatives.
- Champion a culture of transparency, accountability, and responsible innovation throughout the organization.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of data privacy, AI ethics, and responsible AI principles.
- Proven leadership experience in building and scaling governance frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex technical and legal scenarios.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Fluency in English and Arabic; French is a plus.
- Strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution capability.
- Experience working in multinational technology environments.
Education
A Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Law, Ethics, Public Policy, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in privacy (CIPP/ISO) or AI ethics are highly desirable.
Experience
Candidates must have at least ten years of progressive experience in data governance, compliance, or ethical AI, with a minimum of five years in a senior leadership role. Experience within a global technology firm or a regulated industry enhances candidacy.
Salary
The role offers a competitive salary range of 8,000 to 12,000 SSP per month, reflecting the seniority of the position and the strategic importance of data ethics at Microsoft. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
