Job Overview
The Agricultural Drone Operations Manager will lead the planning, execution, and analysis of UAV‑based surveying, crop monitoring, and data collection initiatives across farms in the Djerba region. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement drone flight plans for crop health assessment, irrigation mapping, and pest detection.
- Manage a team of UAV pilots, data analysts, and field technicians, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- Coordinate with agronomists to translate aerial imagery into actionable agronomic recommendations.
- Maintain compliance with Tunisian civil aviation regulations and ensure safe operation of all drone assets.
- Oversee data processing pipelines, integrating GIS, AI, and machine‑learning models to generate farm‑level insights.
- Develop and deliver client training sessions on drone‑derived analytics and John Deere’s precision platforms.
- Monitor equipment performance, schedule maintenance, and manage inventory of spare parts.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting ROI and sustainability metrics.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in UAV operation, flight planning software (e.g., Pix4D, DroneDeploy), and aerial data acquisition.
- Strong understanding of precision agriculture concepts, crop physiology, and agronomic best practices.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent analytical skills, proficient in GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) and data visualization.
- Knowledge of Tunisian aviation regulations and safety standards.
- Effective communication skills in Arabic, French, and English.
- Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in UAV operation (e.g., EASA Part‑107, Tunisian Civil Aviation Authority) are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years of professional experience in UAV operations within an agricultural context, including at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience with precision farming platforms and data analytics is essential.
Salary
The competitive salary range for this position is 3500 – 5000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
