Job Overview
The Business Development Engineer will be responsible for identifying, developing and managing new business opportunities for Air Liquide’s industrial gases portfolio in the Sousse region and surrounding areas. The role combines technical expertise with commercial acumen to propose customized gas solutions, negotiate contracts and build long‑term relationships with key accounts. You will work closely with the engineering, operations and marketing teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new market segments and high‑potential customers for industrial gases and related services.
- Develop technical proposals and cost‑effective solutions that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Lead negotiations, close sales contracts and ensure profitable margins.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement customized gas delivery systems.
- Monitor project milestones, coordinate with operations for timely installation and commissioning.
- Maintain a robust pipeline in CRM, providing accurate forecasts and reporting to senior management.
- Conduct market analysis, competitor benchmarking and recommend strategic actions.
- Represent Air Liquide at industry events, trade shows and customer workshops to enhance brand visibility.
Required Skills
- Strong technical background in chemical, mechanical or process engineering.
- Proven B2B sales experience in industrial gases or related high‑tech sectors.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
- Fluency in French and English; Arabic is a plus.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office suite.
- Result‑oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Process) or Business Administration with a technical focus is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in sales engineering are advantageous.
Experience
At least five years of experience in B2B sales engineering, preferably within the industrial gases, chemicals or energy sectors. Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and large accounts is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 3,500 to 5,000 SSP per month, complemented by performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a company car allowance.
