Job Overview

The Energy Storage Systems Engineer will design, develop, and implement advanced battery storage solutions for utility‑scale and commercial projects throughout Tunisia. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will ensure seamless integration of storage technologies with renewable generation assets, grid services, and demand‑response programs. You will be responsible for system sizing, performance modeling, safety compliance, and lifecycle management, delivering solutions that maximize efficiency and reliability. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for battery storage projects.
  • Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control strategies.
  • Perform system simulations using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and HOMER.
  • Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and international codes.
  • Lead commissioning, testing, and performance validation of installed systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during operation and maintenance phases.
  • Collaborate with research partners to explore emerging storage technologies.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of lithium‑ion, flow, and hybrid battery technologies.
  • Proficiency in power electronics, inverter design, and grid integration.
  • Experience with energy management software and SCADA systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills in English and French; Arabic is a plus.
  • Project management experience and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., IEC 61850, PMP) are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.

Experience

Applicants should have 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience in energy storage system design, integration, or related fields. Prior experience in utility‑scale projects, renewable energy, or smart grid initiatives in Tunisia or the broader MENA region is preferred.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 3,500 to SSP 5,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
