Job Overview

The Marine Logistics Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing the end‑to‑end flow of cargo through the Port of Sfax, ensuring timely vessel berthing, cargo handling, and documentation compliance. This position bridges the gap between ship operators, port authorities, customs, and inland transport providers, optimizing schedules and minimizing delays. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate vessel arrival and departure schedules, ensuring optimal berth allocation and adherence to port slot windows.
  • Prepare and verify all shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and cargo manifests.
  • Liaise with port authorities, customs officials, and terminal operators to resolve any operational issues promptly.
  • Monitor cargo loading and unloading processes, guaranteeing safety standards and minimizing cargo damage.
  • Analyze freight data to identify bottlenecks and propose process improvements that enhance turnaround time.
  • Maintain accurate records in CMA CGM’s logistics management system and generate regular performance reports.
  • Support the implementation of digital tools such as electronic data interchange (EDI) and real‑time tracking platforms.
  • Collaborate with inland transportation partners to ensure seamless door‑to‑door delivery.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP TM, CargoWise) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Problem‑solving orientation and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in French and English; Arabic is a plus.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as FIATA Diploma or Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) are advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in marine logistics, port operations, or freight forwarding, preferably within a multinational shipping environment. Experience with North African ports and familiarity with Tunisian customs regulations will be considered a strong asset.
