Job Overview

This role focuses on preserving Tunisia’s cultural heritage through digital innovation. The Digital Cultural Heritage Preservation Specialist will collaborate with historians, archaeologists, and technology experts to develop virtual reconstructions, 3D modeling, and digital archives of historical sites and artifacts. The position is ideal for candidates passionate about merging technology with cultural preservation to create immersive educational and tourism experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement digital preservation strategies for cultural heritage sites and artifacts.
  • Collaborate with historians and archaeologists to document and digitize historical data.
  • Develop virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences for museums and educational institutions.
  • Utilize 3D scanning and modeling tools to create high-resolution digital replicas of heritage sites.
  • Conduct research on international best practices for digital heritage preservation.
  • Ensure compliance with UNESCO and ICOMOS standards for cultural heritage documentation.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in 3D modeling software (e.g., Blender, AutoCAD).
  • Proficiency in digital archiving and metadata management systems.
  • Knowledge of VR/AR development tools (Unity, Unreal Engine).
  • Strong understanding of cultural heritage laws and ethical guidelines.
  • Excellent project management and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and French/English for stakeholder communication.

Education
