Job Overview
This role is part of Suez Tunisia’s initiative to expand its water resource management capabilities in southern Tunisia. The Water Resource Management Specialist will lead projects focused on sustainable water allocation, drought mitigation, and ecosystem preservation in the Gafsa region. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Tunisia’s national water security strategy while working with international environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct hydrological assessments and develop water resource management plans for agricultural, industrial, and municipal sectors.
- Monitor water quality and quantity in surface and groundwater sources using GIS and remote sensing tools.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders, including farmers, municipalities, and environmental agencies, to implement water-saving technologies.
- Design and manage desalination, wastewater recycling, and rainwater harvesting projects.
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to senior management and government authorities.
Required Skills
- Expertise in water resource modeling software (e.g., SWAT, HEC-HMS) and environmental impact assessment methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and policy development.
- Fluency in Arabic and French, with working knowledge of English.
- Experience in cross-sector collaboration and project management.
- Understanding of Tunisian water regulations and EU environmental directives.
Education
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or Water Resource Management.
- Certifications in GIS, water quality analysis, or sustainable development are advantageous.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in water resource management, preferably in arid or semi-arid regions.
- Proven track record in managing end-to-end environmental projects.
Salary
An annual salary between 6000 – 8000 Tunisian Dinars, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
