Job Overview

The Procurement Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing the end‑to‑end sourcing process for the Kairouan store. Reporting to the Regional Procurement Manager, the specialist will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that all purchased goods meet Carrefour’s high standards for quality, cost‑effectiveness and sustainability. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a robust supplier base for categories including fresh produce, dry goods, non‑food items and packaging materials.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify cost‑saving opportunities and emerging trends in the Tunisian retail sector.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms and service level agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with Carrefour’s ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with store managers, inventory planners and finance teams to forecast demand and align procurement plans.
  • Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators such as on‑time delivery, quality compliance and cost variance.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management, highlighting savings, risks and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to local regulations, corporate policies and sustainability guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost reductions.
  • Excellent communication abilities in Arabic, French and English.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of retail supply chain dynamics and local market conditions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics or a related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or a master’s degree will be considered favorably.

Experience

Applicants should have 2‑4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain roles, preferably within the retail or consumer goods sector. Experience with international suppliers and familiarity with Tunisian import regulations are advantageous.

Salary

The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from 1,800 to 2,500 SSP, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and annual salary reviews are part of the compensation package.
