Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute fermentation experiments at bench-top and pilot scales to optimize growth and production parameters.
- Develop and implement sophisticated feeding strategies and media formulations to enhance metabolic flux toward the target product.
- Analyze complex datasets from bioreactor runs to identify bottlenecks in the production process and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the downstream processing team to ensure that fermentation outputs are compatible with purification workflows.
- Lead the scale-up activities from 5L to 10,000L vessels, ensuring consistent product quality and yield across scales.
- Maintain rigorous documentation of all experimental protocols and results in compliance with international biosafety and quality standards.
- Evaluate and integrate new bioreactor technologies and sensors to improve real-time monitoring of cellular health.
Required Skills
- Expertise in aerobic and anaerobic fermentation processes and bioreactor operation.
- Deep understanding of microbial metabolism, stoichiometry, and kinetics.
- Proficiency in using Design of Experiments (DoE) software to optimize multi-variable processes.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in HPLC, GC-MS, and spectrophotometry.
