Job Overview
This position focuses on designing and executing events that highlight Tunisia’s cultural heritage, including festivals, heritage walks, and educational workshops. The ideal candidate will collaborate with local artisans, historians, and tourism stakeholders to create immersive experiences that attract both domestic and international visitors. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate cultural tourism events, ensuring alignment with UNESCO’s sustainability and heritage preservation goals.
- Collaborate with local communities, artists, and tourism boards to develop authentic event concepts.
- Manage event budgets, timelines, and logistics, including venue selection and vendor coordination.
- Design promotional strategies to attract attendees, leveraging digital marketing and partnerships with travel agencies.
- Evaluate event success through attendee feedback and impact on local tourism metrics.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in event planning, preferably within cultural or heritage tourism contexts.
- Strong cross-cultural communication and community engagement skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and budgeting software.
- Creativity in designing events that balance cultural authenticity with modern appeal.
- Fluency in French and Arabic, with English as an asset.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Cultural Studies, Tourism, or related field. Advanced certifications in sustainable tourism or heritage management are advantageous.
Experience
3–5 years of experience in event planning, with a focus on cultural or community-based tourism. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is preferred.
Salary
1,200,000 – 1,500,000 TND/year, commensurate with experience.
